There are two lasting bequests we can give our children: One is roots, the other is wings.” Hodding Carter
11 children are leaving the nest this year. Like any parent we are sad and also a little excited at the thought of this big step. We believe that we have given them roots to help establish them in the world and that it is now time to give them wings to fly in pursuit of their dreams. To make this new journey just a little bit easier we would love to give each of them a “going-away hamper”, like that old kettle and the 3 plates that didn’t match you inherited. All of us can recall funny stories such as ironing on the floor, serving soup without a spoon and crawling from the bathroom to the bedroom because of a lack of curtains on the windows. We don’t want to spoil them. We just want to meet their basic needs at this exhilarating and scary time of their lives.
We want to wave them farewell with the following in their hands:
Iron

Kettle

Bedding & Pillow
